BTI'S TEACHING PROGRAMME ON THE THAI / BURMESE BORDER

Much of the schooling and education in Thailand is delivered by a teacher standing at the front of the class talking and the pupil sitting and listening - the ‘download’ method.  What BTI teaches the students in its Teacher Education programme on the Thai/Burmese border is that you teach out of who you are, and that education can be fun, hands on and relational.

Through this programme, we hope to inspire the next generation of learners and teachers, so that they will make a difference in the lives of others and educate a nation.

The first group of trainee teachers graduated in 2014, and have now settled back into the refugee camp in Mae La, to begin the task of delivering relational education and inspiring the next generation of learners.

EDUCATE A NATION

The BTI programme in Thailand is, in the large part, made possible through donations and fund raising by BTI staff, students and those involved in Graeme's family church.

If it is on your heart to help educate a nation through BTI’s Teacher Education programme with Effective Aid International, please contact us to see how you can help.
View the BTI Blog for updates from Graeme and Kendall.
Graeme Cook and his wife, Kendall, are BTI's teachers on the ground.  This is an interview with Graeme was recorded before the programme was established.
Two years on and in 2014 the first cohort of new teachers graduated! This home video, put together by Graeme, shows the enthusiasm of the students and how far they've come.
