Teacher Education Stakeholder FeedbackFeedback helps us to shape our programmes and meet the needs of stakeholders, whether they are existing students, alumni, associate teachers, practicum centres, programme monitors, NZQA or TEC.
Here's some recent feedback: “BTI Students seem well prepared with course work and expectations from the college are clearly written… BTI Provides exceptional learning opportunities for upcoming graduates and it has been a pleasure to have two students of a very high standard work amongst our centre” Associate Teacher (ECE). “We believe your programme to be comprehensive enough for the students to gain understanding of what is in store for them. Students develop good observation skills and understanding of what it means to develop relationships with children, seeing interests and building on them.” Associate Teacher (Primary) "The ideal of being a fountain for my students is with me constantly. It is certainly what I strive to be. I have had trials and thankfully I have had support and my constant memories of the patient, excellent and wonderful teaching examplars that I received in my training at BTI. I always felt that you all had my best interest at heart. That is a powerful memory for a student to have of her teachers and it is one I try to give to my students." "When saying to people that I am a teacher, I am often asked “What do you teach?” My reply is always “I teach students”. I teach hearts and minds, I teach students to be independent and to question, I teach life skills and how to build and maintain relationships. If BTI taught only curriculum content and lesson planning, then maybe my response to this question would be different. I was taught to value myself as the learner at BTI, and so I now value the learner more than the content too. I believe that through a good relationship students will learn more than if I were just teaching content.” Rachael McKoy, Alumnus, Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Primary
