Our unique weekly practicum model, shaped by student and stakeholder feedback, allows you to experience face to face secondary teaching, dialogue, peer presentations, Noho Marae, daily use of Te Reo, practicum preparation and debrief.

Successful Job Outcomes

83% of students who graduated with BTI's Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) degree in early 2017 were already employed as a Secondary Teacher at the time that they graduated.  Many were offered a job in either their "Host School" or a school at which they had had a practicum experience. All candidates must provide proof of language competency (English or Te Reo Māori) before entering an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme. There are a range of ways to demonstrate competency.
