​Basic information regarding our programmes can be found here on this website. Select All Programmes, School of Social Practice, Teacher Education Programmes, Master of Professional Practice or NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation from the drop-down menu under 'PROGRAMMES' in the navigation menu.

Each programme page has a downloadable information booklet which provides specific information about the qualifications available. Booklets are located in the top right corner. Sample pictured to the right.

​Read Application Information

​The 'APPLY' page provides information such as:
  • Entry requirements
  • Character requirements
  • Documents required for application
  • Credit recognition and transfer
  • Interview process
  • Key people to contact if you need assistance

​Prepare Supporting Documents 

​Ensure that you have all of the documents below ready to submit prior to starting your application:
  1. Certified copy of your transcript if you've studied before
  2. ID photo that meets the ID Photo requirements 
  3. Proof of citizenship  
  4. Contact details for 3 referees (including email addresses)
  5. An up to date CV (word format or PDF is fine)
  6. An essay outlining your reasons for seeking entry (400 words). Please prepare your essay in advance and save in a text or word document. Once you are happy with the text, you can copy and paste it into the area available within the application portal. This will eliminate the risk of your computer timing out and losing what you have written.

​Check Key Dates

​Check that the dates contained in the Key Dates documents fit in with any commitments you have made for the upcoming year. Most students are required to come to the BTI campus for at least two intensive visits each year. Dates for intensives are recorded in the individual Programme Key Dates documents. As attendance at intensives is compulsory, it is vital that you check your availability in advance.

​Pay - Application Fee

​Your application fee must be paid before your application can be processed.

Police Vetting Form & Proof of Identity
Upon receipt of your application, you will receive an email asking you to complete a police vetting form and requesting proof of Identity. In order for us to comply with the identity requirements set out in the Vulnerable Children Act Regulations 2015, we require two forms of ID, one Primary and one Secondary, one of which must be photographic. A full list of acceptable forms of Identification will be attached to this email.

​Apply for Studylink

​​If you wish to pay for your fees through student loan or you want to find out if you are eligible for student allowance, now is the time to apply for Loans & Allowances.

If you are applying to study for the first time, you may be eligible for fees-free support.

​Interview

​All applicants eligible for entry into a programme will be interviewed. Interviews may be carried out by Skype for those who live further than three hours’ drive from BTI and are intended to supplement evidence of character, academic achievement and motivation. BTI may require an
​in-person interview for some applicants irrespective of where they live.

​Interview Outcome

​The outcome of your interview, including an offer of a place if successful, will be emailed to you as soon as possible after the interview.

​Acceptance of Place

​If you have been accepted into a programme of study, you must reply to the email referred to above and indicate whether you would like to accept our offer. It is important that you do this promptly in order to secure your place in the programme.

​Sign and Return Enrolment Forms

Once we have received confirmation from you that you wish to accept our offer of a place, you will be emailed an invoice enrolment form via Adobe e-sign in due course. Once you've signed and returned this agreement (this is all done electronically) you are officially enrolled at BTI!

​

​​Your programme Administrator will email an information letter to you. Please take some time to read this carefully as it contains important information about your study.

​
​If you are intending to use a student loan to pay your fees, please ensure that your application has been submitted to StudyLink. For all other methods of payment, fees are payable no later than two weeks prior to the start of your programme. For semester dates please refer to Key Dates.

​Now that you are officially a BTI student you can opt to purchase a Student ID Card online.

​The student information Directory lists the most important information required by BTI students, such as BTIonline (student online learning portal) campus facilities & services​, fees, student loans and allowances, graduation, key dates, student ID Cards, student policies and student support.
