Launch of Nga Whanau O Karaiti Kahui Ako

​BTI was proud today to join 16 other educational institutions (based from Hamilton to Taupo, and Te Awamutu to Whakatane) to launch Nga Whanau O Karaiti Kahui Ako, a Ministry of Education-funded Community of Learning at Bethlehem College today. This is an exciting time for Christian education in the region. Our institutions have long worked together. Now we get to collaborate to meet local challenges and needs while being funded to do so. This is our chance to lift each of our organisations, to build into our people, take our students to the next level, and revel in the work we do for, and while serving God.

Our Kahui Ako will focus on boys writing at years 7-9, Te Reo Maori development, oral language development at pre-school and Year 1 of school, and resilience, particularly at the senior end of school. This will be done within a framework of developing service-learning and culturally responsive pedagogies.
